How many factories were evacuated during the war?

From the beginning of the war until August 1942, enterprises were evacuated to the rear. In total, 2,743 enterprises were transported. These were factories that manufactured military equipment, that is, strategically important, since it was necessary to provide the army with ammunition. Among the enterprises were oil industry. Evacuation was carried out to the deep rear: to Kazakhstan, to the Urals, to Eastern and Western Siberia. This made it possible to save production from defeat.
