How many liters of carbon dioxide are produced when 22 grams of propane are burned?

Propane formula – C3H8
Let’s compose the formula for the combustion of propane and arrange the coefficients:
С3H8 + 5O2 = 3CO2 + 4H2O
We calculate the amount of substance C3H8
n (C3H8) = 22/44 = 0.5 mol
Three times more carbon dioxide was emitted, i.e. n (CO2) = 0.5 * 3 = 1.5 mol
Now we calculate the volume of released gas by the formula V = n * Vm. Vm under normal conditions is always 22.4 l / mol
V (CO2) = 22.4 * 1.5 = 33.6 l.
