How many planets are there in space?

There are an unlimited number of planets in space, but there are eight planets in the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. More recently, there was another planet – Pluto, but scientists considered it too small and deprived of the title of “planet”.
