How many times in US history has a new Constitution been created to replace the old one?

The US Constitution is one of the very first in the world. From the moment of its adoption to the present day, it has been the main body of US laws and has never changed its basic norms and principles. It was adopted on September 17, 1787. In total, 26 amendments were made to the US Constitution. The first, and most important, were 10 amendments, which enshrined the personal rights of citizens and limited the power of the state. This package of changes is called the “Bill of Rights”.
