How many vertebrae does a person have?

The vertebral column in humans consists of sections, each of which has vertebrae. The cervical region is represented by seven vertebrae, the thoracic – twelve, the lumbar – five, the sacral – five, and the tailbone, which includes four or five vertebrae. Consequently, a person has only 33-34 vertebrae.
