How to distinguish a real banknote from a counterfeit one?
To distinguish a real banknote of any denomination from a counterfeit one, you need to pay attention to a number of signs that will give you a hint:
1) The most important thing is the quality of the paper of the banknote. It should not be smooth and glossy, there should be some surface roughness;
2) Watermarks. Regardless of the denomination, they should show through on your bill. If they are absent at all, or there is no sign, it is fake;
3) The presence of a security thread on some banknotes. It has good color, dense texture and can even stand out on the texture of the bill;
4) The paint itself, which the banknote is painted with, should be without gaps, uniform coverage, there should be no blurring images;
5) Certain signs inherent in individual banknotes, such as a change in the color of the coat of arms, an indication of the modification of the banknote.
The last sign is not an obvious indicator of a fake, but it is doubtful if the bill looks too new. Money is very often passed from hand to hand, gets dirty, torn, so this is an alarming sign.
