How to distinguish with one reagent: salicylic acid and sodium benzoate

Sodium benzoate and salicylic acid can be recognized with ferric chloride FeCl3.
1. When sodium benzoate reacts with ferric chloride, a pinkish-yellow precipitate is formed.
2. When salicylic acid interacts with ferric chloride, a complex compound is formed, which has a violet color.
