We find the area by Heron’s formula. To do this, we find the semi-perimeter of the triangle:

P = 6 + 7 + 9 = 22, p = 22: 2 = 11.

S = √p (p – a) (p-b) (p-c).

S = √11 (11 – 6) (11 – 7) (11 – 9) = √11 * 5 * 4 * 2 = √ 11 * 40 = √440 = 2√110 cm2.

Answer: 2√110 cm2.
