How to find the average speed if the path and time are known?
March 4, 2021 | education
| In order to find the average speed Vaverage, you need to divide the entire path traversed by the body by the time during which this path was traversed, that is:
Vaverage = Sfull / tfull.
For example: let the body pass the first leg of the path 2 kilometers in 1 hour, and the second leg of the path 3 kilometers in 1.5 hours, then the average speed of the body will be:
Vaverage = Sfull / tfull = (2 + 3) / (1 + 1.5) = 5 / 2.5 = 2 km / h.
