An isosceles triangle is a triangle in which the sides are equal:

AB = BC.

The perimeter of a triangle is the sum of all its sides:

P = AB + BC + AC.

Since the base of the AC triangle is half the size of the lateral side, and the perimeter is 50 cm, then we express:

x is the length of the base of the speaker;

2x – the length of the sides AB and BC;

x + 2x + 2x = 50;

5x = 50;

x = 50/5 = 10;

AC = 10 cm;

AB = BC = 10 2 = 20 cm.

Answer: the length of the base of the AC is 10 cm, the length of the sides AB and BC is 20 cm.
