СO2 -> C + O2 – carbon and oxygen are obtained by decomposition of carbon dioxide;
C + 2H2 = CH4 – carbon reacts with hydrogen to form methane gas;
CH4 + Cl2 -> CH3Cl + HCl – chlorine is passed through methane and hydrochloric acid and chloromethane are formed;
CH3Cl + NaOH -> CH3OH + NaCl – chloromethane reacts with base and forms salt and methanol;
CH3OH + NH3 -> CH3NH2 + H2O – methanol reacts with ammonia to form methylamine and water;
CH3NH2 + HCl -> CH3NH3CL – methylamine reacts with hydrochloric acid to form methylammonium chloride.
