How to separate a mixture of salt and water-insoluble matter?

Salt is highly soluble in water, so the brine must be passed through a conventional filter. An insoluble precipitate will settle on the filter. The resulting filtrate, which contains salt, must be gradually evaporated or filtered under vacuum, all the salt will remain on the filter. You can separate salt from water with decanoic acid, salt precipitates out at the bottom of the liquid.
