How was the moral and ideological preparation of the Soviet people for the coming World War II carried out?

The idea was spread in the country that all people work to create a bright future (people believed in this, fulfilling their five-year plans). As a result, the population of the country strove to improve indicators, to do everything in their power. The same applied to military operations: people were prepared to send all their forces to fight the enemy. At the beginning of the war, Molotov spoke on the radio, who said that the enemy would be defeated, that the country’s leadership was taking all measures for this. Despite the ideology, moral training, desertions took place in the army: the soldiers surrendered to the Germans, thinking that it would not be worse under the Nazis.
