How was the Roman Empire restored in western Europe? What did it matter?

After the collapse of the Roman Empire into Eastern (Byzantium) and Western, many small states were formed. Some of the territories were conquered by Byzantium. Another part of the territories was conquered by the Frankish state, and by 800, Charlemagne became the Roman Bishop Leo 3. This state existed until 887, then divided into three parts. The ruler of the East Frankish kingdom was proclaimed by Pope John 12 in 962. The state remained in this form until 1806.

Thanks to the restoration of the Roman Empire, it was possible to preserve the cultural heritage and language. Latin was then the main language of worship in Western Europe.
