How were the army, tax and economic policies organized under absolutism?

Absolutism, as a state structure, presupposes the complete belonging of the supreme power to one person (monarch). Therefore, the organization of the army, the policy of taxes, the economy are aimed at strengthening the power of the monarch, his prosperity.

A regular mercenary army was created with strong discipline, good equipment and direct subordination to the monarch.

The tax burden for the luxury of the ruler, wars constantly increased, which led to a deterioration in the position of the lower classes and discontent.

The economy was dominated by mercantilism with the value of gold, a complete ban on its export and the predominance of exports over imports in trade. The aim was to enrich the monarch’s treasury.
