How were the plants bred whose flowers have neither pistils nor stamens?

Plants, the flowers of which do not contain either stamens or pistils, are usually called “asexual – they a priori cannot participate in the process of plant reproduction and the formation of a full-fledged seed. They were obtained in the course of breeding work – closely related crossbreeding was carried out under artificial conditions, as a result of which an organism appeared that had an unnatural phenotypic (and genotypic) feature. Most likely, such flowers are needed in order to obtain seedless fruits.
