Lack of certain vitamins can be very bad for a person’s vision. For example, vitamin A is very involved in the work of retinal cells. Lack of this vitamin in food for a long time significantly impairs vision. This is especially noticeable with vision at dusk. The so-called “twilight blindness” sets in. Nutritional deficiencies are also bad for vision, especially during active growth, i.e. in adolescence and childhood. Children can develop severe myopia due to a lack of protein in their diet.
