How will the structure of the protein change if the place of the AAA triplet in the DNA molecule is replaced by the AGA triplet?

Protein is synthesized not on DNA, but on the messenger RNA chain. That, in turn, is built along one of the DNA strands according to the complementarity rule.

First, let’s find the mRNA sequences that are encoded in these DNA fragments:

AAA = UUU,

AGA = UCU.

Now, according to the table of the genetic code, we will establish which amino acids are encoded by these codons.

UUU – phenylalanine,

UCU – serine.

As you can see, a completely different peptide will be encoded.
