Hydrochloric acid reacts with each of two substances: 1) Na2CO3 and Na2O 2) Fe and Fe2 (SO4) 3 3) Cu and Cu (NO3) 2 4) BaSO4 and Ba (OH) 2

1) Na2CO3 + 2HCl = 2NaCl + H2CO3 – exchange reaction, resulting in sodium chloride and carbonic acid.

Na2O + HCl = NaCl + H2O – exchange reaction, resulting in sodium chloride and water.

2) Fe (II) + 2HCl = FeCl2 + H2 is a substitution reaction resulting in iron (II) chloride and hydrogen.

2Fe (III) + 6HCl = 2FeCl3 + 3H2 is a substitution reaction resulting in iron (III) chloride and hydrogen.

Fe2 (SO4) 3 + 6HCl = 2FeCl3 + 3H2SO4 is an exchange reaction resulting in ferric chloride and sulfuric acid.

3) Cu + HCl = Ø – under normal conditions, the reaction does not proceed, because in the series of metal activity, Cu is lower than H. Therefore, Cu cannot displace H2 from the acid. But if HCl is in a gas state and there is a temperature of 700 degrees Celsius, then the reaction will proceed as follows:

Cu + 2HCl = CuCl2 + H2;

Cu (NO3) 2 + 2HCl = CuCl2 + 2 HNO3 is an exchange reaction resulting in copper (II) chloride and nitric acid.

4) BaSO4 + 2HCl = BaCl2 + H2SO4 – exchange reaction, as a result we get barium chloride and sulfuric acid.

Ba (OH) 2 + 2HCl = BaCl2 + 2H2O – exchange reaction, with the receipt of barium chloride and water.
