Slavophiles: Russia has its own, distinctive path of development, its own culture. Russia should not adopt Western values, since they are not suitable for Russia, they are alien. Negative attitude towards Peter I.

Westerners: Russia should orient itself towards the West, adopt wholesome experience and way of life, as well as the achievements of Western culture. Peter I is an outstanding monarch.
