If the Pope had not called for the crusades, would they have taken place or not?

| Before the crusade, many nobles began to grow poorer. The way to get rich quickly could be the seizure of the eastern lands. The situation was gradually heating up. Therefore, I believe that the campaigns were inevitable. In addition, if there were a campaign, then the turnover of weapons would increase, and hence the trade in them. The Pope only made a kind of “push”, uniting everyone in front of a divine goal.
In fairness, I will say that there is a second opinion on this issue. It says that the Pope had supreme power in Europe, therefore, without his instructions, the campaigns would not have begun.
