We write in this triangle the definition of the tangent of angle A and express the leg AC:
Tg A = BC / AC → AC = BC / tan A = 12 / 0.8 = 15 (cm).
We find the hypotenuse AB by the Pythagorean theorem:
AB = √ (225 + 144) = √369 = 3√41 = 19.2093 ≈ 19.2 (cm).
Answer: AC leg 15 cm, AB hypotenuse 19.2 cm.
