In a right-angled triangle ABC with a right angle C, the legs are known: AC = 6, BC = 8. Find the median CK of this triangle.

1. We calculate the length of the hypotenuse AB, using the formula of the Pythagorean theorem for the calculation:

AB = √AC ^ 2 + BC ^ 2 = √6 ^ 2 + 8 ^ 2 = √36 +64 = √100 = 10 units.

2. Since the median of the CК is drawn from the vertex of the right angle, its length is half the length

hypotenuse. Taking this property into account, we calculate the length of the median of the CК:

СK = AB: 2 = 10: 2 = 5 units.

Answer: the length of the median CК is 5 units.
