1. A circle is inscribed in triangle ABC. R is its radius. ∠А = 90 °. AB leg = 5 units. AC leg = 12 units
2. Hypotenuse BC = √AB² + AC² (by the Pythagorean theorem).
BC = √5² + 12² = √25 + 144 = √169 = 13 units.
3. R = (AB + AC – BC): 2 = (5 + 12 – 13): 2 = 2 units.
Answer: R = 2 units.
