Let’s use the property of the triangle bisector. Let’s make a proportion.
AB / AC = BD / DC
20/24 = x / x + 3
Let’s solve the proportion:
x = 20 * (x + 3) / 24
x = (20x +60) / 24
Reduce by 4: x = (5x + 15) / 6
6x = 5x + 15
6x-5x = 15
x = 15
ВD = 15 cm
DC = 15 + 3 = 18 cm
ВС = ВD + DC = 15 + 18 = 33 cm
