| The height drawn to the base of the isosceles triangle divides the base into two equal segments. The angle between the base and the height is 90 °. Then, in a right-angled triangle formed by the height, half the base and the side, the lateral side is the hypotenuse, conventionally – c):
c = √ (9 ^ 2 + 12 ^ 2) = √225 = 15 m.
