| In an isosceles triangle, the median drawn to the base is the height.
Triangle ABD – rectangular (∠D = 90 °).
AD = ½ AC = ½ * 28 = 14.
By the Pythagorean theorem, AB ^ 2 = AD ^ 2 + BD ^ 2.
AB ^ 2 = 196 + 2304 = 2500.
AB = 50.
S = ½ AC * BD = ½ * 28 * 48 = 672.
Answer: the side of the triangle is 50, the area of the triangle is 672.
