| Given:
isosceles triangle ABC,
AB and BC – lateral sides,
АС – bases,
P ABC = 35 centimeters,
AB = 2 * AC.
Find the sides of the triangle ABC, that is, AB, BC and AC -?
Solution:
Consider an isosceles triangle ABC. Its sides are equal to each other, that is, AB = BC.
Let the length of the AC side be x centimeters, then the lengths of the AB and BC sides are 2 * x centimeters. We know that P ABC = 35 centimeters. Let’s make the equation:
x + 2 * x + 2 * x = 35;
5 * x = 35;
x = 35: 5;
x = 7 centimeters – speaker length;
2 * 7 = 14 centimeters – lengths AB and BC.
Answer: 7 centimeters; 14 centimeters; 14 centimeters.
