In connection with what began the Hundred Years War?

The expression Hundred Years War is understood as military conflicts from 1337 to 1453, on the one hand, England and her allies, on the other, France and allies. The aspirations of the Plantagenet royal dynasty of England, which tried to regain control over the previously lost lands on the continent and gain control over the French throne, became the reason for the aforementioned conflicts. As a result of the Hundred Years War, England lost control over large territories in the southwestern part of France which it had been in control of since the 12th century. Military expenditures swallowed up all the funds of the English treasury, and the latter was unable to regain control over the lost territories.
