In one DNA molecule, the adenine nucleotide (A) makes up 20% of the total number of nucleotides

In one DNA molecule, the adenine nucleotide (A) makes up 20% of the total number of nucleotides. Determine the amount in% of each of the other types of nucleotides.

The DNA molecule contains: adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), guanine (G). This will be 100% nucleotides. According to the rule, the number A = T, and the number G = C. Means:

1) 20% adenine (A) = 20% thymine (T).

20% + 20% = 40% of total A and T.

2) 100% – 40% = 60% remaining nucleotides.

Now we will find cytosine (C) and guanine (G), for this we need to divide the remaining nucleotides by 2.

3) 60%: 2 = 30%.

Therefore, T and A are 20% each; C and G 30% each.
