In one elevator there was 2 times more grain than in the other. 750 tons of grain were taken out from the first elevator, 350 tons were brought to the second elevator, after which the grain in both elevators became equal. How much grain was originally in each elevator?

Let there be x t of grain in the second elevator, then in the first – 2x t. According to the condition of the problem, after 750 tons of grain were removed from the first elevator, 350 tons were brought to the second elevator, then in both elevators the grain became equal. Let’s compose and solve the equation.
2x-750 = x + 350
We transfer numbers to one side, and unknown variables to the other:
2x-x = 350 + 750
