In parallelogram ABCD, the diagonals meet at point O. Find the sum of the segments AO and OD if the sum of the diagonals AC and BD is 43.
By the property of the parallelogram diagonals, they are halved at the intersection.
AO = CO, BO = OD.
Then, AC + ВD = 2 * AO + 2 * OD = 43 cm.
2 * (AO + OD) = 43 cm.
(AO + OD) = 43/2 = 21.5 cm.
