In the first experiments to study the propagation of electromagnetic waves in air, a wave value of 50 cm was obtained at a transmitter frequency of 50 MHz. From the results of this experiment, calculate the speed of propagation of electromagnetic waves in air.

To calculate the value of the speed of propagation of electromagnetic waves as a result of this experiment, we apply the formula: V = λ * ν.

Variables: λ – the obtained value of the wavelength (λ = 50 cm = 0.5 m); ν is the radiation frequency of the transmitter used (ν = 50 MHz = 5 * 10 ^ 7 Hz).

Calculation: V = λ * ν = 0.5 * 5 * 10 ^ 7 = 2.5 * 10 ^ 7 m / s.

Answer: Electromagnetic waves, according to the results of this experiment, propagate at a speed of 2.5 * 10 ^ 7 m / s.
