In the northwest of France there is one called Normandy. Why is it called that?

The country in northwest France is called Normandy for historical reasons. According to chronicles and other historical sources, scientists have concluded that in ancient times people who called themselves Normans lived in the territories of Northern Europe. Another name that stuck to them is the Varangians. These people lived in conditions of eternal travel. Their activities were trade and plunder. They often dreamed of this at sea, since they had a very developed navy. The Normans organized their state much later than the others, but in development they were not inferior.
