| In the oscillatory circuit, the maximum voltage across the capacitor is 120 V. Determine the maximum current if the inductance of the coil is 0.005 H and the capacitance of the capacitor is 10-5 F. Consider that the active resistance is negligible.
The reactive resistance of the oscillating circuit is determined by the formula:
Rr = 1 / LC, where L is inductance, C is capacitance.
Rr = 1 / 0.005 * 10 ^ (- 5) = 2 * 10 ^ (7) Ohm.
We determine the current strength from Ohm’s law (we divide the voltage by resistance:
I = 120/2 * 10 (7) = 6 * 10 ^ (- 6) = 6 μA.
