1. Let’s compose the equation of chemical interaction:

S + O2 = SO2.

2. Find the chemical number of sulfur dioxide (Vm – molar volume equal to 22.4 l / mol):

24 ml = 0.024 l.

n (SO2) = V (SO2) / Vm = 0.024 L / 22.4 L / mol = 0.00107 mol.

3. Based on the reaction equation, we find the chemical amount of sulfur, and at the end its mass:

n (S) = n (SO2) = 0.00107 mol.

m (S) = n (S) * M (S) = 0.00107 mol * 32 g / mol = 0.0343 g.

4. Calculate the mass fraction of sulfur in the alloy:

ω (S) = m (S) / m (alloy) * 100% = 0.0343 g / 10 g * 100% = 0.343%.

Result: ω (S) = 0.343%.
