| In trapezoid ABCD, the smaller base CD and the height are 7 cm and 8 cm, respectively. Find the area of the trapezoid if the area of triangle ABC is 60 cm2.
The height of the CH trapezoid is also the height of the triangle ABC, then:
Savs = AB * CH / 2.
AB = 2 * Savs / CH = 2 * 60/8 = 15 cm.
Then the area of the trapezoid will be equal to: Savsd = (CD + AB) * CH / 2 = (7 + 15) * 8/2 = 88 cm2.
Answer: The area of the trapezoid is 88 cm2.
