To solve the problem, draw a triangle ABC, since AB = BC = 35, then it is isosceles.
Let’s draw the median BM, for an isosceles triangle it will be both the height and the bisector.
Since VM divided the AC into two equal segments, CM = 42/2 = 21.
Consider the BMC triangle, it is rectangular, then BM = √ (35 ^ 2 – 21 ^ 2) = 28.
