| In triangle ABC, we find the leg BC if the following values of the rectangle are known:
Angle C = 90 °;
tg A = 12/35;
AC = 35.
Decision:
The ratio of the opposite leg in relation to the angle a to the ratio of the adjacent leg is equal to the tangent of the angle a.
We get the formula in the form:
tg A = BC / AC;
From here we will express what the second leg of the BC is equal to.
BC = AC * tg A;
Substitute the known values and calculate its value.
We get:
BC = 35 * 12/35 = 35/35 * 12 = 1/1 * 12 = 12;
As a result, we got that the leg of the rectangle is BC = 12.
Answer: BC = 12.
