In triangle ABC, side AB is 27cm and it is 3 times larger than side BC.Find the length of side AC if the perimeter of triangle ABC is 61cm.
Given:
ABC is a triangle.
AB = 27 cm.
BC – 3 times <than AB.
P ABC = 61 cm.
Find: AC.
BC = 27: 3.
BC = 9 cm.
The perimeter of a triangle is equal to the sum of the lengths of all its sides. Thus, the perimeter formula is written as follows:
P treug. = a + b + c.
P ABC = AB + BC + AC.
61 = 27 + 9 + AC.
61 = 36 + AC.
AC = 61 – 36.
AC = 25 cm.
You can write the solution to the problem in a different way:
AC = P ABC – (AC + BC).
AC = P ABC – (AC + AC: 3).
AC = 61 – (27 + 27: 3).
AC = 61 – 36.
AC = 25 cm.
Answer: 25 cm side length of the speaker.
