In triangle ABC, the sides are 3, 5 and 6. Find the radius of the circle inscribed in the triangle.

The semi-perimeter will be equal to:

(3 + 6 + 5): 2 = 7.

The area of this figure will be equal (we use the Heron’s formula known from the school course):

√ (7 * (7 – 5) * (7 – 6) * (7 – 3)) = 2√14.

Determine what the circle will be equal to, which is described around the triangle:

2 * 2√14 / (3 + 6 + 5) = 4 / √14

Answer: 4 / √14.
