In what cases is a moving body usually considered as a material point?

A moving body is considered a material point when, during its movement, the shape, size, structure of the body does not matter. The body is considered as a geometric point of a certain mass. The body is considered a material point when its size is much less than the distance the body moves, the shape of the body can be neglected.
Examples: – the movement of the Earth around the Sun. The dimensions of the Earth are much less than the distance to the Sun, therefore the Earth can be considered a material point with such a motion.
– the movement of the plane during the flight from Moscow to Vladivostok. The distance between cities is much greater than the size of an airplane. The shape of the plane and its internal structure do not play a significant role; the plane can be considered a material point.
– a stone falls from a certain height. The dimensions of the stone are much less than the height from which it falls, so the shape of the stone does not matter and can be considered a material point.
