In what climatic zones is Antarctica located?

Antarctica, the southernmost of the Earth’s continents, is completely located in only one climatic zone – the polar one. About 98% of the Antarctic surface is never free from ice, there is almost no positive temperature here. This is due to the geographic location of the continent. Being in the Far South of the Earth, Antarctica receives very little solar heat and light. An additional obstacle to ice melting is the high level of the continent: the ice has a height of 2 to 3 km, and the temperature drops even more with height.
