In what directions is European integration developing?

European integration at the moment is aimed at the countries of the Balkan Peninsula and the countries of the former Soviet Union, that is, in Southern and Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. In the past five to six years, an association agreement with the EU has entered into force with a number of states in these regions. Among them are such powers of the former USSR as Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova (summer 2014). The Republic of Serbia in 2013, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015 signed an Association and Stabilization Agreement. In 2018, Armenia, a member of the Customs Union, signed an expanded partnership document with the EU.
