In what style was the Leaning Tower of Pisa built in Romanesque or Gothic?

The bell tower in the Italian city of Pisa is part of the large architectural ensemble of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, or Pisa Cathedral. The tower is famous all over the world for its inclination, which occurred as a result of miscalculations during the construction of the tower.
