In what units is density measured?

As you know from the course of school physics, density is mass divided by volume. In standard SI units, mass is measured in kilograms, and volume in cubic meters, thus density is measured in kilograms divided by cubic meter. In the technical or old literature, you can also find such a CGS unit as a gram divided by a cubic centimeter. In theory, density can be measured using any unit of mass or density — for example, pound divided by cubic foot.
