In what ways can you find out what a fossil animal ate?

Archaeologists sometimes find fossilized fragments of feces of prehistoric animals – coprolites. By examining them by the method of spectral analysis, it is possible to determine what kind of food the animal had. Sometimes scientists not only receive information about whether an animal was a herbivore or a predator, but precisely determine the nature of its diet.
