In 627 BC. one of the governors of Nabopalasar raised a rebellion, in connection with which, soon he took control of all the lands of Babylon. Later, he unites with the forces of the Medes king, and together they deal a crushing blow to the Assyrian Empire. In 611 BC. their troops destroyed the capital of Assyria – Nineveh. This is how the Assyrian Empire actually ceased to exist.
