In what year did Christianity split into Catholics and Orthodox Christians?

The split occurred in the eleventh century (1054). Divided into two links: The first was now called Catholicism, the second – Orthodoxy. The reason for the event is the impossibility of agreeing to the mutual actions of the Pope and the Patriarch. Each of them wanted to gain supreme power over the other. The uniqueness of this event is that the meeting of the two “churches” took place 910 years later, in 1964, in Jerusalem. This event is still considered one of the most important events of the twentieth century.
