The soldiers of the Germans entered Rome through the Salarian Gate as a result of treason. The plundering of the Eternal City lasted two days. It was accompanied by arson and beating of residents. After the plunder, on the third day, the Goths left Rome to be torn to pieces by starvation, taking with them many treasures and supplies.
